| FAQ
Technology has changed the way we do business. Every
business needs printing, copying, graphic design and
promotional products. You provide those services for
your community.
What do we do?
- Printing, Digital Printing/B&W and Color,
Promotional Products, Graphic Design, and
Bindery/Finishing.
How are we different from other printing
companies?
- Centralized Production Center – No printing
presses at store; No high paid pressman; No EPA
problems; Lowers your investment by $100K; Helps you
get to break even quicker; Online with Production
Center server; Production Center handles larger/more
complicated jobs; 2 day air N/C.
- Superior Support Department – Support in areas
such as business management, marketing, HR,
estimating, recordkeeping, operations, etc. Everyone
at SAMPA has a role in our support dept.
- Smaller store size in a variety of locations – approximately 1200 sq. ft.;
Locate near other businesses in an office building
or industrial space.
- The first store was opened by our founder in
1974 – We began franchising in 1982 – We’re not
going anywhere but up.
What will be your job routine daily?
- You will do some direct sales, but hire a
full-time salesperson
- You will manage all services of your center:
Black & White Copying; Digital Color Copying;
Printing; Bindery; Design; Promotional Products
What are the store hours/days?
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and
Saturdays 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (depending on your
location) – No crazy retail hours.
Who will be my employees?
- Initially one part-time or full-time desktop
publishing operator plus one full-time salesperson
- No press operator needed
Do you need experience?
- No, we train you – Good background in
management, sales and computers is helpful
- 2 weeks at Denver headquarters
- 1 week on site at opening
- Follow up visits during first year and following
years
- Telephone support for immediate needs
How much money can I make and how long to break
even?
- This varies. During training we provide a
proforma with sales targets and costs related to
sales. Other factors
are: your management skills; experience with
business; local economic conditions; local market
for the product;
competition; and sales level reached during the
initial period. We do not make any guarantees or
representations
that you can or will break even or make a profit.
Is this a viable industry?
- While we offer many services, Signal Graphics
Business Centers are part of a $100 billion printing
and publishing industry. Our products and services
are used by every business. In addition, they often
need to be reordered on an ongoing basis.
Who will my customers be?
- We focus on providing professional services for
small, medium and large businesses. In addition,
many retail customers use our services. The bottom
line is: every company needs our products.
Why would I open a digital center instead of a
traditional print shop?
- In recent years there has been an explosion of digital
information. Our centers are designed to help customers
manage that information. Traditional offset printing is
still done either at our production facility or by one
of our many out national vendors. By not having the
equipment on site, the overhead is drastically lower
and there are fewer employees to manage. The
franchise owner can focus on customer service
and increasing sales.
